How to judge the quality of laboratory bench?

The laboratory bench is the main equipment and furniture for our experiments, and its quality affects the accuracy of the experiment and the life of the lab bench. When we build a new laboratory, we need to choose high-quality equipment. So, how to judge the quality of the laboratory table?

The quality of the lab tables can be considered from the following aspects:

1. Countertop material

The table top materials of the lab bench mainly include standard board, solid core physical and chemical board, and epoxy resin board. The 25mm standard plate is not resistant to high temperature, strong acid and alkali, and cannot be repaired after the surface is scratched, and it is easy to warp. This kind of countertop cannot be used in the chemical laboratory. Apart from the low price, it has no advantages. The 12.7mm solid core physical and chemical board can resist different degrees of strong acid and alkali, but the countertop will leave different degrees of flaws, it is not resistant to high temperatures (about 80 degrees), easy to deform, and cannot be repaired, and is now slowly being phased out. The 16mm epoxy resin board is resistant to high temperature of 350 degrees, and there is no problem with the instantaneous temperature of 600 degrees. It is resistant to strong acids and alkalis and is not easy to denature. It is currently the most mainstream board type.

2. Plate

The boards of laboratory furniture are mainly melamine boards, but melamine boards are also divided into many types, with different brands, thicknesses, and colors. A good melamine board must be a national E1 board, and the formaldehyde does not exceed the standard. When you cut it, you can see that there is wood inside. shaved, not a powdery substance. Moreover, the price of a good three-poly board can be twice of the worst three-poly board.

3. Steel frame

The steel of the steel frame depends on the place of origin. It must be more than 1.2mm, the thicker the more reliable. The surface is polished, pickled, phosphated, and then sprayed with epoxy resin, which can effectively prevent acid, alkali, and rust. The epoxy resin spray is also thick and thin, so pay attention to careful observation.

4. Handle

The handle can be an ordinary alloy handle that costs a few cents each, or a plastic one-shaped handle that costs tens of dollars per meter, or an aluminum alloy spray handle with a higher price.

5. Hinge, guide rail

Hardware accessories account for a small proportion of laboratory furniture, but they are directly related to the quality and service life of the lab furniture. Before purchasing, you must be familiar with related knowledge, or check relevant information online.

6. Laboratory accessories

Laboratory accessories such as sinks, faucets, drip racks, eye washers, etc. also depend on the relevant brands, and try to choose products produced by large manufacturers with better quality.
